This was a two phase project to provide a regional headquarters, operations, and call center facility for Verizon Wireless Company.
Phase I involved the major renovation of an existing three-story building. Complete new HVAC systems, electrical systems, and structural modifications were included.
Phase II provided a new four story, 150,000 SF steel frame structure with 50,000 SF of parking beneath. Facility was designed for coastal hurricane wind loads and seismic design considerations in accordance with the 2003 International Building Code. Redundancy was built into the structure to preclude progressive collapse. Emphasis was given to systems economy and sustainable design.
